Adding propane BACK to the Aloha

When we first got the Aloha, we opted not to use propane.....probably more about being afraid of the unknown than anything else.  At that time, we were content to camp only at campgrounds so we knew we would have access to electricity for heat and lights; we also figured we could use outdoor grills for any cooking we would do.

Now that we want to be self-contained, we are adding all new propane lines and valves and will install a brand new Wedgewood gas range (17", white) and a gas light.  The Aloha is so tiny that we'll just use the oven for heat in lieu of a furnace.  We selected the Wedgewood range because it has a retro look to it, and the white will match the sink and fridge......and the toilet if you're keeping track!!

Fortunately, the cutout dimensions required for the new range are exactly the same as what was used by the original range; that's going to make the installation a heck of a lot easier!

The Wedgewood should arrive next week, and we are still on the lookout for the light.

In the meantime, I have to start shopping for all of the propane hook-up materials and supplies.

Pictures to be posted after installation.  Here's a link to the gas range if you're interested:

  1. Hi, I just found your blog. I am really interested because I also have an Aloha 1963. It is the same model, so I am interested. I am a member of the women's group Sisters on the Fly. I just purchased my Aloha in 2/2013, and it was repaired prior to that.
